Location: The University of Sydney & Online

The SVA Symposium allows practitioners and students to share current practices, deepen their understanding of student voice and partnership practical and theoretical principles, and discuss challenges that inspire innovation and cross-institutional collaboration. The Symposium features thought-provoking keynotes, workshops, case studies, panel sessions and informal networking for students and practitioners from Australia and Asia-Pacific countries. The event will be delivered in person and online and followed by networking.

Dates to be aware of:

  • Case study submissions: Open – 1 June | Close – 19 August

  • Registration*: Open – 1 July

    • *Free for SVA members, cost TBC for non-members.

  • Student travel sponsorship applications: Open – 1 July | Close – 30 August

Steering Group:

Take an active role in shaping the SVA Symposium by joining the steering group. As a steering group member, you will be involved in shaping the program, selecting the speakers and designing the symposium experience.

Commitment and expectations: You will be required to attend 4-7 meetings between June and September. Throughout these meetings, active participation in discussions and the offering of ideas is encouraged. Additionally, there is the option to take on a role during the event, such as facilitating a panel, note-taking, or leading group discussions.

Who can join: Students and staff from member institutions are encouraged to join the group. The SVA Coordinator and the University of Sydney team will be active steering group members.

Recognition: Steering group members will receive acknowledgment during the event and will be featured in the annual SVA handbook for their contributions to shaping the SVA Symposium. Additionally, all members will receive SVA certificates.
